2009 American Indian Fellowships In Business Scholarship Program - USA

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a Business Major
  • Enrolled full time during entire school term.
  • Junior, Senior or Master level of study
  • Enrolled member of American Indian tribe or Alaskan Native.
  • If elected, candidate must be available to attend INPRO 2009 in September 2009. (Expenses including lodging, ground transportation and airfare from within the 50 United States will be provided by NCAIED)

Important Note: if elected for an award and are unable to attend, award will be forfeited.

Interested Students Should Submit The Following:
(note: incomplete packages will not be considered - so please ensure that you have all material submitted)

  • Completed Application
  • Letter requesting consideration stating the following:

o Reason for pursuing higher education
o Plans following completion of degree program
o Activities and commitment to community they wish to have considered.

  • Separate Essays (250 word each) on the following:

o Community Involvement
o Personal Challenges
o Business Experience (Paid or Volunteer)

  • Transcripts (official or unofficial)
  • Letter of Admission/Enrollment from school for 2009/2010 term.

This scholarship program is open to Texas based college students. It is a result of proceeds from a Live Auction during the UNCF Dallas, TX office’ s Red, Hot & Snazzy Benefit Gala in which personal donations were made by employees and guests of Exxon Mobil, Frito-Lay Inc, Bernard Harris Foundation, BNSF Railway, American Airlines, Coca-Cola , AT &T, Wachovia, Nationwide Insurance and others. The Red, Hot & Snazzy Benefit Gala Scholarships has been established to support the educational development and career aspirations of deserving, yet financially disadvantaged, students. It will offer higher education opportunities to bright, talented young people and allow them to connect with positive academic role models and develop leadership skills for future success. Introduction: Western and Affiliated scholarships are available on a competitive basis to students who qualify.This scholarship is awarded annually to Missouri Western students who have completed 60 hours at a junior or community college with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above and are members of Phi Theta Kappa. This award is restricted to full-time students entering Western for the first time. This award must be used in the student’s first four regular semesters (excluding summer sessions) of full-time attendance. The scholarship is valued at up to $4,250 per year.

Eligibility: The student must maintain a 3.5, or above, cumulative GPA to remain eligible. This scholarship may not be used in conjunction with the President’s Community College Transfer Scholarship.

How to Apply: Awarded automatically to students who qualify. Must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to award disbursement.

Introduction: The Osteopathic Medicine Scholarship provides financial assistance to Kentucky students who attend Pikeville College’s School of Osteopathic Medicine. The award is equal to the difference between the average amount charged for in-state tuition at the state medical schools and tuition at the Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine.

Eligibility: Recipients must practice 2000 hours in Kentucky for each year they receive a scholarship. Recipients who do not complete the program or do not practice in a qualified field of service in Kentucky must repay the scholarship with 6% interest. Introduction: Graduate Studies at the University of Maine is available for any student of any academic background (e.g. natural science, forestry,  agriculture or chemical or environmental engineering, or economics, industrial and systems engineering, etc. ). This is only open to  students who are interested to pursue graduate studies at masters or PhD level in the area of environmental life cycle assessment (LCA) and industrial ecology of forest bio-products (e.g. bio-fuels, bio-chemicals). Industrial ecology, LCA, sustainability of biofuels and  bioproducts belong to the fields of environment, natural resource management, biotechnology, bioenergy or other development related  subjects.

Eligibility: 1.A background in LCA, materials flow analysis (MFA) or industrial ecology is preferred. However, successful applicants should be  willing to learn the fundamental concepts/principles of LCA, MFA or industrial ecology to pursue this challenging research in  sustainability science.
