The Dave Sanders Memorial Scholarships 2009

Introduction: The Dave Sanders Memorial Scholarship was established by the Colorado Masons on April 23, 1999, in honor and memory of Columbine High School business teacher and coach, Dave Sanders.Contributions for the scholarship fund were received from around the world from over 3,000 individuals and companies in 36 States and the District of Columbia as well as Canada, Italy, Mexico, Scotland, Spain, and Tasmania. Some of the larger contributors include Lucas Film, Ltd., Disneyland, the Columbine High School coaches, the Colorado Chapter of the Association of Walls and Ceiling Industries, Acoustical Concepts, Inc, and the Northern Colorado Beanie Baby Club of Fort Collins. The program is now administered by The Denver Foundation.

Eligibility: Applicants must:
1.Be a senior graduating from Columbine High School
2.Be planning to attend college or another accredited post high school educational institution in the fall of 2009
3.Have a minimum cumulative GPA through 7 semesters of 2.5
4.Have attended Columbine High School for a minimum of 2 years

How to Apply: Applications must be turned in to the Columbine High School Counseling Office by Friday, April 10, 2009. A letter will be mailed to all applicants regarding the Selection Committee’s decisions no later than April 29, 2009. Scholarship awards will be paid directly to a recipient’s educational institution and must be used within one year of the award date. Each scholarship award is a one-time award and is not renewable.
