John H. Payne Scholarships 2009

Introduction: Hawai’i Pacific University offers this partial-tuition scholarship to students who will graduate from high schools or will be transferring from colleges/universities across the nation. This scholarship is offered once per academic year and is awarded for the fall and spring semesters only.

Eligibility:
1.A high school or college cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00.
2.College transfer students may transfer a maximum of 31 college credits to HPU.
3.Demonstrate involvement extra-curricular activities and community service.
4.Demonstrate financial need.
5.Must enroll as a full-time student during the fall and spring semesters.

The NSHMBA Scholarships

Introduction:
The National Society of Hispanic MBAs, which exists “to foster Hispanic leadership through graduate management education and professional development,” has established a scholarship program to assist qualified Hispanics to pursue MBAs. Scholarships are offered each year for full- and part-time study at an accredited (AACSB) institution of the student’s choice.

Eligibility:
Maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent) in current degree program.
Participate in at least two NSHMBA chapter, regional, or national events by April 30, 2009.

How to Apply:
To complete your application you must also send the following documents to Scholarship Management Services postmarked no later than April 30, 2009:
Complete undergraduate and graduate school transcripts of grades from all colleges attended. Grade reports are not accepted. Online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
Two letters of recommendation from professors, advisors or employers addressing current academic achievement, personal qualities, potential for future success and contributions to the community.
Applicants will receive an emailed confirmation when the electronic application is successfully submitted. Late submissions and incomplete application packages will not be considered. If you do not receive acknowledgment that your application package is complete, it is your responsibility to contact Scholarship Management Services to check on your application’s status.

Introduction: Kaiser Permanente College To Caring Program offers funds to students who are juniors or seniors in college pursuing a bachelors degree in nursing. Students who are selected will receive a scholarship for $8,000 each year they attend nursing school. Based on availability, C2C Scholars also have the possibility of interning at a Kaiser Permanente facility.

Eligibility: Must be of Hispanic background
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, residing in Northern California
Must be studying full-time in the United States or Puerto Rico
Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
Must demonstrate financial need
Must be a rising junior or senior in college pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing for the 2009-2010 academic year.

Hilton Family Scholarships  2009-10

Introduction: The Hilton Family Diversity scholarship program awards scholarships to deserving Hispanic students attending any four-year college or university within the United States.This program is designed to help ensure educational access and ease the financial burden of attending college. Ten Hilton Family Diversity Scholars will be selected to receive re-newable scholarships for $2,500 and will attend the Hilton Scholars Retreat July 26-29, 2010 in Los Angeles, CA.

Eligibility: Must be of Hispanic background
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
Must be studying at an accredited university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the upcoming academic year
Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student for the upcoming academic year
Must have earned and maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
Must demonstrate financial need, verified by the financial aid office
Must be a permanent resident in the Southern California counties of Imperial, San Diego, Riverside, Orange, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Ventura; consideration also given to Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Kern county residents.
