Missouri Western State University - Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships 2009

Introduction: Western and Affiliated scholarships are available on a competitive basis to students who qualify.This scholarship is awarded annually to Missouri Western students who have completed 60 hours at a junior or community college with a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above and are members of Phi Theta Kappa. This award is restricted to full-time students entering Western for the first time. This award must be used in the student’s first four regular semesters (excluding summer sessions) of full-time attendance. The scholarship is valued at up to $4,250 per year.

Eligibility: The student must maintain a 3.5, or above, cumulative GPA to remain eligible. This scholarship may not be used in conjunction with the President’s Community College Transfer Scholarship.

How to Apply: Awarded automatically to students who qualify. Must also complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) prior to award disbursement.

Introduction: Western and Affiliated scholarships are available on a competitive basis to students who qualify.  Students may apply online beginning in October of each year with a March 1st priority deadline.  Applications will be distributed to all members of the Western scholarship selection committees for review. As a general rule, committees will meet on or before March 31st, and will notify recipients of their decisions in April.

Eligibility: This non-renewable scholarship is awarded to first semester graduate students who have been accepted in a graduate program at MWSU, have an outstanding academic record and presents evidence of involvement in community service.

Introduction: Western and Affiliated scholarships are available on a competitive basis to students who qualify.his scholarship is awarded annually to Missouri Western students who have completed 60 hours at a junior or community college with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.  This award is restricted to full-time students entering Western for the first time.  This award must be used in the student’s first four semesters (excluding summer sessions) of full-time attendance (semesters need not be consecutive). The scholarship is valued at up to $2,000 per year.

Eligibility: The student must maintain a 3.0, or above, cumulative GPA to remain eligible.

Missouri Western State University - Non-Traditional Community College Transfer Scholarships 2009

Introduction: Western and Affiliated scholarships are available on a competitive basis to students who qualify.This scholarship is awarded annually to Western students who have completed 60 hours at a junior or community college with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.  This award is restricted to students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours but less than 12 credit hours.  Applicants must demonstrate that they work 20 hours or more per week and provide a personal statement that indicates the reasons why they cannot attend Western on a full-time basis.  This scholarship is limited to eight semesters.  The scholarship is worth an amount up to $750 per semester.

Eligibility: A 3.00 cumulative GPA is required for renewal.

Introduction: Western and Affiliated scholarships are available on a competitive basis to students who qualify.

Eligibility: To be eligible for this program, the student must be enrolled part-time (6-11 credit hours), be employed and compensated for at least twenty (20) or more hours per week,  be making satisfactory academic progress and have financial need.

How to Apply:
Must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit any additional requested documentation to the Office of Financial Aid no later than April 1st.  Must complete an  Employment Verification Form
