College of Communication Debate Scholarships 2009

Introduction: The Hawai‘i Pacific University College of Communication Scholarship Program was created to recognize outstanding men and women in Hawai‘i and the U. S. Mainland who have the potential to become leaders in the communication field.This program offers 50% tuition-waiver scholarships to entering high school graduates and new transfer students who become active participants in HPU’s debate program. Scholarships are awarded for the fall and spring semesters and may be renewed for three additional years. The program also offers 50% tuition-waiver scholarships to Graduate Assistants as debate coaches for the program.

Eligibility: 1.Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 supported by a current official transcript sent directly to the HPU Admissions Office.
2.Have your debate coach or teacher fill in the recommendation form and/or submit a letter of recommendation.

How to Apply: 1.Submit a completed application for admission.
2.Enclose an essay (one to two pages) describing your educational and personal objectives.
3.The applicant must be willing to actively participate in the HPU debate program.
