Creating Leaders, Bridging Cultures, Building Communities
Cargill has long been a company dedicated to being the global leader in nourishing peoples’ lives through its business operations around the world and its partnerships with leading nonprofit organizations whose programs extend the reach, impact and vitality of the company’s core vision.

In 2004, Cargill and AFS-USA joined together to launch an international exchange scholarship benefiting high-school students in regions where Cargill does business. We are pleased to announce that this partnership will continue in 2009, and that Cargill is offering scholarship opportunities for exchanges between the United States, Latin America and Asia.

Study Abroad in LATIN AMERICA or ASIA as a Cargill Scholar in 2009
Studying abroad with AFS as a Cargill Scholar will give you a global experience you will never forget. You’ll explore daily life in a new community and you’ll learn to speak another language. You’ll make new friends from around the world, meet Cargill employees and take part in special discussions to share your AFS experience. Your exchange will strengthen your college applications and professional resumes. When you return, you’ll have a greater understanding of yourself, the world and your place in it.

    Dear whom this concerns,
I was just wondering how much longer this deadline could be extended. I know a committee is looking at nominated candidates, but I am on my way to send one. I am passionate about this and would love to go, but cannot pay the majority of the price. I speak English, have taken a year of Spanish, and would like to become fluent in it. A trip like this would expand my horizons and help me become much more independent. If there is an exception you could make, please get back in contact with me: (828)291-7682.
    Sincerely, Kayla Stover
