Introduction: In 1983, Ford Motor Company entered into a Conciliation Agreement resolving the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s (EEOC’s) 1973 charge of discrimination against Ford Motor Company and the United Auto Workers. The provision of the agreement endowed specifi ed colleges and universities with funds to be used to provide scholarships in perpetuity for minority and female employees of Ford Motor Company and their eligible spouses and offspring. Under Ford Motor Company’s educational endowment and grants program, scholarship funds are made available annually to meet their designated purpose.
Eligibility: 1. The Ford Motor Company Endowed Scholarship was created to fund, on a perpetual basis, a limited number of scholarships for women and minorities (individuals who are Native American/Alaskan, Asian or Pacifi c Islander, African American/Black, or Hispanic/Latino). 2. Preference is given to: a)Minority and female employees of Ford Motor Company. b)Minority and female children of Ford Motor Company employees. c)Minority and female spouses of Ford Motor Company employees .3. Scholarship applicants must base their application on their relationship to a permanent, active, full-time employee of Ford Motor Company. Applicants should not base their application on their relationship to a temporary or retired employee or intern. To apply, complete and submit the application on the next page. 4. Complete applications must include a copy of a recent pay stub or a letter from the Human Resources department at Ford Motor Company confi rming employment. 5. These scholarships are not need-based and may be awarded to only one member of a family with an established relationship with a Ford Motor Company employee. 6. Scholarships are awarded to students who will be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate program on the Ann Arbor campus during the 2009-2010 academic year. 7. If the applicant is an entering transfer student, complete academic transcripts showing all college-level course work must be provided.
