Introduction: As part of Daniel Webster College and FIRST Leadership initiative, this scholarship is established to enhance the development of leadership and technical skills through team work. The FIRST scholarship will be awarded to an outstanding incoming first-year student who has participated on a FIRST team during his/her high school years. The FIRST scholarship is a $7,500 renewable scholarship worth $30,000 over four-years; it may be combined with other merit scholarships.
Eligibility: Must have a high school GPA of 2.5 or higher
Must have a minimum combined SAT score of 1000 on the math and critical reading sections or an ACT composite score of 21 or higher
Must have participated on a FIRST team in high school
Must be accepted as a full-time first-year student for the 2009-2010 academic year.
How to Apply: Submit a recommendation from a mentor or leader on your FIRST team.Submit a detailed resume that highlights your leadership and technical skills and potential. Submit a 500-word essay on the following quote: “Remember, the FIRST competition is not about building a robot, it’s about building a team.” –Vincent Wilczynski
