Fluid Power/Pneumatics FIRST Scholarships

Introduction: International Fluid Power Society has initiated a plan to designate deserving high school seniors who have participated in the FIRST Robotics Competition, and incorporated pneumatics in the construction of their robot. Scholarships will be available for those students who have completed two years of courses in math, science or technology. Two $2500 scholarships are available to qualified students entering an ABET accredited Engineering or Engineering Technology program.

Eligibility:  This scholarship is limited to those applicants who have been officially admitted to a program leading to a degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology related fields. 1.The applicant must be enrolled, at an ABET Engineering or Engineering Technology post secondary four year school, as a full-time student (as determined by the institution), within twelve (12) months after high school graduation. 2.The applicant must be graduating from high school with a minimum of a “B,” or 3 on a 4 point scale overall grade point average.

How to Apply:  1.The applicant must submit a 250 word essay in which he/she will explain why she/he has enrolled in their degree program and what work-related avenues she/he expect to pursue after completion of the program. 2.The applicant must submit a photo of their robot. 3.The applicant must submit two letters of recommendation from FIRST Robotics team mentors, and/or from High School science, math, or technology instructors from classes the applicant has attended.
