Introduction: Thanks to the vision and generosity of many donors, the Cleveland Foundation offers a variety of scholarships to eligible applicants. Many scholarships are available, with some awarding amounts up to $5,000.
Eligibility:
Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident with permanent resident card
Must be attending an accredited educational institution
Must reside in Cuyahoga, Lake, or Geauga counties (unless otherwise noted).
How to Apply:
1.Request two (2) letters of recommendation from teachers, supervisors, colleagues or community members. Allow 2 weeks.
2.Compose a thoughtful personal statement (of up to 600 words) that will help committee members learn about your personal history, perspectives, goals and interests. Be sure to include your education plans and career goals. This is a very important part of the application because it helps committee members get a sense of who you are. Some scholarships require a specific essay (see Required Additional Information at the end of this application). You may substitute that specific essay for the personal statement.
3.If applying for scholarships where financial need is a consideration, file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and fill out the Financial Need Form. Attach the Student Aid Report showing your Expected Family Contribution (EFC). You may access it at www.fafsa.ed.gov.Mail your application to:
