Masachussets Restaurent Foundation - Culinary Art Scholarships 2009
Introduction: 2009 MRA Educational Foundation/NRA Educational Foundation Co-branded Scholarship Applications are now available. The scholarships are available to ProStart seniors, undergraduates, high school seniors and graduates, and GED certificate holders.
Eligibility: To be considered for this scholarship, an applicant must:
1.Be a student who is accepted to or is currently enrolled in an accredited culinary school, college or university.
2.Have earned a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.65 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).
3.ProStart seniors and other high school seniors must have a minimum of 250 hours, and high school graduates, undergraduates and GED certificate holders must have a minimum of 750 hours.

James Stenholtz Scholarships 2009
Introduction: Lennard Stenholtz established this scholarship to memorialize his son. Even though Lennard and Margaret outlived their only child by many years — she until 1980 and him until 1989 — the couple never forgot how difficult it was to say goodbye to James. This scholarship is their way of celebrating his life and how much he meant to their family.
Eligibility:
1.Be graduating seniors of Alcester-Hudson High School.
2.Plan to attend an accredited college, university, or vocational or technical school
3.Demonstrate financial need.
4.Have participated in extra-curricular activities.

New Jersey Press Foundation Scholarships 2010
Introduction: The Bernard Kilgore Memorial Scholarship will be awarded following a statewide competition sponsored by the Garden State Scholastic Press Association and the New Jersey Newspaper Foundation. The scholarship, valued at $5,000, will be awarded by the New Jersey Newspaper Foundation, which administers the Bernard Kilgore Memorial Scholarship Fund. The recipient will be named the New Jersey High School Journalist of the Year and will be entered in a competition for the National High School Journalist of the Year, operated by the Journalism Education Association.
Eligibility: To receive a New Jersey Press Foundation internship and scholarship, you must be:
1.A U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. resident (green card).
2.A student at a New Jersey college and/or a resident of New Jersey with a New Jersey home address (NJPF follows the residency rules New Jersey’s state colleges use to determine in-state tuition costs).
3.Enrolled as a full-time college freshman, sophomore or junior in 2009-2010 and planning to return to undergraduate school in the Fall of 2010.

Introduction: The Mary Jo Young Scholarship, sponsored by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority, provides assistance with tuition and textbooks for high school students who are enrolled in dual credit classes at a Kentucky college or university and/or Advanced Placement courses through Kentucky Virtual Schools.
Eligibility: It is for high school students in grades 9 thru 12 enrolled in dual credit classes at any college or university or students taking Advanced Placement courses through the Kentucky Virtual High School.

GREEK ORTHODOX ARCHDIOCESE OF AMERICA-GOAA 2009-10 GIOLES SCHOLARSHIPS
Introduction: Established in 2007 by Peter and Elli Malta Paleologos and administered by the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, this will be the third year that this fund is offering assistance to students enrolled in professional full-time
graduate studies leading to graduate, non-theological degrees at accredited universities. At least one scholarship of $10,000 per academic year will be awarded to help graduate students defray the costs of tuition, room and
board, and other expenses related to obtaining a degree.
Eligibility:
1.Candidates must be Orthodox Christian students within a jurisdiction of SCOBA.
2.U.S. citizens (or permanent residents) and either beginning their graduate studies or continuing their graduate studies in the 2009-2010 academic year.
3.Students receiving a full scholarship from any other source or a partial scholarship exceeding fifty percent (50%) of their tuition are ineligible.

Introduction: Hawai’i Pacific University offers this partial-tuition scholarship to students who will graduate from high schools or will be transferring from colleges/universities across the nation. This scholarship is offered once per academic year and is awarded for the fall and spring semesters only.
Eligibility:
1.A high school or college cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.00.
2.College transfer students may transfer a maximum of 31 college credits to HPU.
3.Demonstrate involvement extra-curricular activities and community service.
4.Demonstrate financial need.

Delmer Scott Scholarships 2009
Introduction: This scholarship is one of five awards established by local philanthropists to benefit graduating high school seniors from the Alcester community. It’s namesake, Delmer Scott, graduated from Alcester High School in 1966.Delmer’s brother James and his family created this award in his memory. Delmer had a special affinity for agriculture and took particular pleasure in being a part of the Future Farmers of America organization while he was in school.That’s why the Scott family designated this award to benefit an Alcester senior who has showed outstanding effort in agriculture courses or in the local FFA chapter.
