Vermont Technical College Scholarships 2009
Introduction: The Vermont Tech Scholars program provides full in-state tuition for up to two years for applicants admitted to Vermont Tech degree programs as full-time freshmen. Applicants must have demonstrated their potential for academic and personal achievement and may also have financial need.
Eligibility:
1.Be a resident of the State of Vermont.
2.Have demonstrated academic excellence in high school with a high class rank (top 10 percent is suggested) and high academic achievement (1550 combined score or better is suggested) on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Nontraditional or adult students who have never taken or not taken these tests recently should contact the Director of Admissions for special information.
7.Preference will be given to students who are attending college for the first time.

Portland State University - International Retention Scholarships 2009
Introduction: The International Retention Scholarship is an award ranging between $500 - $4000 for international students who are in good academic standing at Portland State University and who have recently experienced a sudden and unexpected substantive change in their financial support.These scholarships may be renewable upon re-application and will be awarded on an on-going basis as funding allows. Funding availability is not guaranteed and is subject to change at any time. Based on the date of the award, the overall awarded amount is divided equally between remaining terms in an academic year.
Eligibility: Applicants for the PSU International Retention Scholarship must meet the following criteria:
Be an international undergraduate student
Be enrolled in full time coursework each term (minimum 12 hours per term)
Show academic promise
Experienced an unexpected and substantial change in your financial support or circumstance.

Judson Jerome Poetry Scholarships 2009
Introduction: This scholarship is for a week-long conference of intensive study in poetry and an honorary seat at the banquet opening night. The scholarship is named after Judson Jerome, a poet and nonfiction writer, writer of textbooks, professor, and poetry editor who founded the Antioch Writers’ Workshop along with William Baker.
Eligibility: This scholarship is for a week-long conference of intensive study and an honorary seat at the banquet opening night. Room, board, and transportation are not provided. The workshop, however will help the scholarship recipient to find a village host for minimal cost ($150/week). This contest is a national one; anyone from anywhere may apply.

Portland State University - International Achievement Scholarships 2009
Introduction: The International Achievement Scholarship is awarded to approximately 30 incoming undergraduate students on the basis of their academic achievement. Students who maintain high academic standing may receive renewed funding for up to four years.
Eligibility:
1.Eligible students must have entering grade point averages (GPA) of at least 3.5 out of a possible 4.0 grading scale.
2.Students who have not yet met the TOEFL/English Language Proficiency requirement are eligible for this scholarship; however, activation of the scholarship will be delayed until after the ESL restriction has been lifted and the students are fully eligible for unrestricted enrollment in academic classes.
3.Master’s and doctoral applicants may be eligible for this scholarship depending on funding availability.
