Scholarships for Hispanic Students in USA

The Sodexo Foundation and the STOP Hunger Scholarships recognize students who have committed to make a difference in the fight against hunger and its root causes in America.

INTRODUCTION:

The Sodexo Foundation is committed to being a driving and creative force that contributes to a hunger-free nation.  In order to eliminate hunger that affects 38 million people in the U.S., we must fight its root causes. The Sodexo Foundation supports innovative programs to help children and families in the United States who are battling problems like poverty, unemployment, lack of education, and food insecurity.

Amount of Each Scholarship: $500- $5000

ELIGIBILITY:

-Must be of Hispanic background
-Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
-Must be an undergraduate studying full-time in the United States or Puerto Rico for the  2009-2010 academic year
-Must have a minimum GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
-Must demonstrate financial need
-Must be committed to alleviating hunger and poverty in the United States

Ford Mi Fuerza Fund - American Hispanic Scholarships

INTRODUCTION:

The Ford Motor Company Fund’s Mi Fuerza Program supports Hispanic undergraduate students studying any discipline nationwide.

Amount of Each Scholarship: $500-$5,000

ELIGIBILITY:

-Must be of Hispanic background
-Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
-Must be studying at an accredited college or university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the 2008-2009 academic year
-Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student for the 2009-2010 academic year
-Must have earned and maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
-Student must demonstrate financial need

Ford Blue Oval Scholarships in Phoenix - Arizona / Miami - Florida

The Ford Motor Company Fund’s Ford Blue Oval Program supports Hispanic undergraduate students in the Phoenix and Miami area.

Amount of Each Scholarship: $500-$5,000

ELIGIBILITY:

For students in Phoenix:
-Must be of Hispanic background.
-Must have a permanent address in the Phoenix, Arizona region.
-Must be a U.S. citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident.
-Must be accepted or plan to enroll in a college, university or technical school in the U.S. or Puerto Rico in September 2009.
-Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student for the 2009-2010 academic year.
-Must have earned and maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
-Must demonstrate financial need.

For students in Miami:
-Must be of Hispanic background.
-Must reside in the Miami, Florida area.
-Must be a U.S. citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident.
-Must be accepted or plan to enroll in a college, university or technical school in Miami, Florida in September 2009.
-Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student for the 2009-2010 academic year.
-Must have earned and maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
-Must be pursuing a degree related to the automotive industry, including business, science, technology, math, and engineering.
-Must demonstrate financial need.

Kaiser Permanente College To Caring Program

INTRODUCTION:
Kaiser Permanente College To Caring Program offers funds to students who are juniors or seniors in college pursuing a bachelors degree in nursing.
Students who are selected will receive a scholarship for $8,000 each year they attend nursing school. 

Based on availability, C2C Scholars also have the possibility of interning at a Kaiser Permanente facility.

ELIGIBILITY:
-Must be of Hispanic background
-Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, residing in Northern California
-Must be studying full-time in the United States or Puerto Rico
-Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher
-Must demonstrate financial need
-Must be a rising junior or senior in college pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing for the 2009-2010 academic year

Google California Scholarships 2010 - Master / PHD - Computer Science

INTRODUCTION:

The Google Scholarship Program offers funds to students studying computer science or computer engineering who are juniors or seniors in college or pursuing a Master’s or PhD.  Selected scholars will be invited to an all-expenses paid trip to the Google Headquarters in California in spring 2010.

ELIGIBILITY:
-Must be of Hispanic background
-Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident residing in the United States
-Must be studying full-time in the United States or Puerto Rico
-Must have a minimum GPA of a 3.5 on a 4.0 scale

The Hilton Family Diversity scholarship program - Undergraduates - CA

INTRODUCTION:
The Hilton Family Diversity scholarship program awards scholarships to deserving Hispanic students attending any four-year college or university within the United States.This program is designed to help ensure educational access and ease the financial burden of attending college.

Ten Hilton Family Diversity Scholars will be selected to receive re-newable scholarships for $2,500 and will attend the Hilton Scholars Retreat July 26-29, 2010 in Los Angeles, CA.

ELIGIBILITY:
-Must be of Hispanic background.
-Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
-Must be studying at an accredited university in the U.S. or Puerto Rico for the upcoming academic year.
-Must be (or plan to be) enrolled full-time as an undergraduate student for the upcoming academic year.
-Must have earned and maintain a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
-Must demonstrate financial need, verified by the financial aid office.
-Must be a permanent resident in the Southern California counties of Imperial, San Diego, Riverside, Orange, Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Ventura; consideration also given to Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Kern county residents.
